The US Army Corps of Engineers Learning Center (ULC) has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). In obtaining this accreditation, The ULC has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard which is recognized internationally as a standard of good practice. As a result of their Authorized Provider status, the ULC is authorized to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard.
The USACE Learning Center (ULC), Authorized Provider of IACET CEUs Accreditation Demonstrates Commitment to High-Quality Lifelong LearningThe ULC is the Center for Learning and Training for the Corps of Engineers, and manages and implements the Proponent-Sponsored Engineer Corps Training (PROSPECT) Program. This program provides jobrelated training through technical and professional courses to meet the unique needs of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and other government agencies. For over 30 years the PROSPECT program has been offering selected courses worldwide. A new facility located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama is the main training facility.
The course catalog for the PROSPECT Program currently lists over 200 courses that cover a wide variety of topics supporting the missions of Army Corps of Engineers. These courses are available to federal, state or local government employees. Highly dedicated instructors who excel in their areas of expertise are selected from headquarters, divisions, districts, laboratories, the ULC, or from universities or private firms to design and teach the PROSPECT courses.

The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) awarded the ULC the prestigious Authorized Provider accreditation. IACET Authorized Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET CEUs. The accreditation period extends for five years, and includes all programs offered or created during that time.
In order to achieve Authorized Provider accreditation, ULC completed a rigorous application process, including a review by an IACET site visitor, and successfully demonstrated adherence to the ULC/IACET Standards addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs. ULC has pledged its continued compliance with the Standard, and is now authorized to use the IACET name and Authorized Provider logo on promotional course material. In addition, ULC is now linked to the IACET web site and is recognized as offering the highest quality continuing education and training programs

What is an Authorized Provider?Becoming an IACET Authorized Provider entails the completion of an extensive application, as well as a review by an IACET site visitor to ensure our training successfully demonstrates the ability to adhere to all IACET criteria and guidelines.
IACET standards enable continuing educators to deliver programs of the highest quality. Only Authorized Providers offer the IACET Continuing Education Unit (CEU). These CEUs reflect strong procedural standards and quality educational criterion.
IACET Authorized Providers are certified to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for all training programs that meet the IACET criteria.
What is a CEU?The ULC is authorized by IACET to offer CEUs for approved programs. The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) was created by IACET as a measurement of continuing education. One (1) IACET CEU is equal to ten (10) contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction.
What does the Criteria measure?The Criteria measures all aspects of an educational provider’s program development. As an IACET Authorized Provider, The ULC offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under ANSI/IACET Standard. The ULC is authorized by IACET to offer CEUs for this program. CEUs are assigned only to courses deemed qualified for accreditation by the ULC. For courses with assigned CEUs, the number of units is identified on the certificate of completion.
